How to Fold Your Dinner Napkins
The Pyramid
This classic method of folding a dinner napkin is perfect, especially for napkins wth monograms, allowing the beauty of the monogram to take center stage at each place setting at your table. Fold the left and right side of the napkin as shown below so you create a cone and make sure the point is perfectly straight and centered with the lower angle of the napkin. Symmetry is a small but important detail to create the perfect cone shape dinner napkin.
The Pyramid Fold
The pyramid fold dinner napkin is similar to the pyramid shown above but very appropriate for a larger dinner napkin (larger than a normal 20" sq. size). Folding the left and right side to the center, creating a perfect cone and then fold the pointed angle in half. This shape shape allows for the napkin to fit nicely on a dinner plate or charger in centered at each pacesetting or place the napkin to the left of the fork(s).
Simple Fold
The simplest and contemporary method of folding your napkin creates a rectangular and linear look to your place setting. While other folding methods create different shapes which visually enhance the look of the table, sometimes simpler is better allowing the rest of the table setting to take center stage. There are times when the napkin can be highlighted more or less and the simple fold is appropriate when you are trying to do less, keeping the place settings clean and linear.
